Protect your skin
One of the risks of sun exposure during pregnancy is the appearance of the so-called pregnancy mask (chloasma). These are areas of pigmentation that can appear on the face, particularly on the forehead, chin, cheeks, cheekbones and around the mouth.
The essential reflex: sunscreen! Apply sunscreen around half an hour before sun exposure to help protect your skin from UVA and UVB rays. For optimal protection, choose a product with a very high protection factor, such as SPF 50+. Reapply every two hours, even when using a high SPF. Sunscreen helps protect against sunburn as well as premature skin ageing.
Stay hydrated
Summer days are lovely, but it is important to take precautions during hot weather. Drink water regularly throughout the day to stay well hydrated, even if you do not feel thirsty. The amount of water you need will of course depend on factors such as your activity level and the weather.
Tips for drinking more water
It is not always easy to drink enough water throughout the day. You can add flavour by infusing your water with fruits you enjoy, such as strawberries, kiwis, mangoes, oranges or lemons. Keep it in the fridge for a refreshing drink whenever you like!
