Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2016

Fashion Week printemps-été 2016

After New York, London and Milan, it is now Paris’s turn to bring these four weeks of Spring/Summer 2016 Fashion Week to a close.

From September 29 to October 7, the French capital will be buzzing with creativity during ready-to-wear week, with several days entirely dedicated to fashion. With 91 shows listed on the official schedule, Paris is set for an intense week filled with events... and emotions!

The 2016 ready-to-wear trends will be unveiled throughout the week. It is the perfect opportunity for fashion lovers to discover the upcoming trends, while brands showcase their expertise and savoir-faire.

Designers will take over many prestigious Parisian venues, with shows hosted at the Palais de Tokyo, the Grand Palais, the Palais des Beaux-Arts, the Espace Ephémère Tuileries, the Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild, the Institut du Monde Arabe, Paris City Hall, the Jeu de Paume, the Opéra Bastille and the Mona Bismarck American Center.

But Fashion Week does not take place in Paris alone, as it is held in the four major fashion capitals: New York, London, Milan and Paris. This succession of four fashion weeks is commonly referred to as the “Big Four” by English-speaking media.

Traditionally, the first week takes place in New York, the second in London, the third in Milan and the final week in Paris, sometimes accompanied by “pre-collections”. Each city has its own unique atmosphere.

With its slogan “Fashion Loves Paris”, the capital will embrace the colours of the event, while the Eiffel Tower will be illuminated every evening, revealing the word “Fashion” with every sparkle.
