What are the benefits of prenatal fitness during pregnancy?
When practised with suitable movements, prenatal fitness during pregnancy allows you to stay active while respecting your body’s needs and limits. It includes gentle breathing, mobility and muscle-strengthening exercises.
This type of exercise can notably help to:
- relieve certain muscular tensions;
- improve posture;
- maintain mobility;
- gently strengthen the body;
- breathe more easily and encourage relaxation;
- support well-being during pregnancy;
- gradually prepare the body for your baby’s arrival.
Prenatal fitness is not about performance. Above all, it is about becoming more aware of your body, moving at your own pace and giving yourself a moment just for you.
Gently returning to physical activity after childbirth
After birth, the body needs time, attention and care. Postnatal fitness makes it possible to gradually return to physical activity with exercises designed to support this particular stage.
It can notably help you regain greater mobility, release accumulated tension and gradually reconnect with your body and sensations.
Every movement should nevertheless be performed while respecting your own recovery pace and the recommendations of your healthcare professional.
This postnatal fitness workshop near Brest will also be an opportunity to meet other new mothers and enjoy a friendly moment together, without pressure or judgement.
What should you wear for a prenatal or postnatal fitness session?
To make the most of a workout during pregnancy or postpartum, choose soft, breathable and comfortable clothing. Your clothes should move with your body without compressing your belly or restricting your breathing.
An adaptable maternity legging, paired with a suitable sports bra and a comfortable top, allows you to move freely before, during and after pregnancy. Soft and stretchy fabrics are particularly pleasant during this period when the body can be more sensitive.
At Cache Cœur, our maternity activewear collections are designed in Brest to support women throughout pregnancy, breastfeeding and postpartum. Every piece is created to offer freedom of movement, comfort and support while adapting to the body’s changes.
