Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2016
After New York, London and Milan, it is the turn of Paris to close these four weeks of Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2016.
From September 29 to October 7, for ready-to-wear week, the creative boil takes its quarters in the capital for a few days under the sign of fashion. With 91 parades on the official calendar, Paris will live an intense week, full of events... and emotions!
The 2016 ready-to-wear trends will be unveiled throughout this week. This is an opportunity for fashion lovers to discover the next trends and for brands to communicate about their know-how.
The designers will invest in many prestigious Parisian venues: hosting parades at the Palais de Tokyo, the Grand Palais, the Palais des Beaux-Arts, the Espace Ephémer Tuileries, the Salomon de Rothschild Hotel, the Arab World Institute, the Paris City Hall, Le Jeu de Paume, the Opéra Bastille and the Mona Bismarck American Center.
But the Fashion Week doesn't just take place in Paris, as it is present in the four major fashion capitals: New York, London, Milan and Paris. The succession of these 4 weeks is commonly called the "big four" by the Anglo-Saxon media.
Traditionally, the first week is awarded in New York, the second in London, the third in Milan and finally the last week in Paris, with in some cases "pre-collections". Each city has a different atmosphere.
With its slogan "Fashion loves Paris", the capital will put itself in the colors of the event and the Eiffel Tower will be illuminated every night, making the word "Mode" appear with each twinkle.
